Adopt-a-Highway
In summer 2012, Keep Kingsland Beautiful adopted a two-mile stretch of FM 1431 between Kingsland Hills Care Center and the Lake LBJ bridge. KKB is formally recognized by the Texas Department of Transportation as adopter of this roadway, and KKB volunteers carry out a roadside cleanup every three months. Want to help? Email [email protected].
Our next Adopt-A-Highway cleanup date is March 27, 2021. We will meet in the Prosperity Bank parking lot at 9:00 a.m. Contact us if you are interested in volunteering, or just show up. TXDOT supplies trash bags and vests. Please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes and bring work gloves and anything else that will make the job easier and more comfortable for you (hat, sunscreen, long sleeves). The clean-up takes about two hours, depending on how many volunteers participate.
